China’s Premier Wen Says Resolving European Debt Crisis ‘Urgent’




BEIJING : China’s Premier Wen Jiabao said Thursday it was “urgent” to solve the European debt crisis and called on the international community to cooperate, after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The German leader arrived in China for a three-day trip aimed at reassuring Beijing over the crisis in the eurozone and boosting confidence in Europe.

Mr Wen also said that China was considering greater involvement in the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and the upcoming European Stability Mechanism (ESM).
